Manufacturing Supervisor

Job Description: The purpose of the Manufacturing Supervisor is to supervise and coordinate the overall operations of the CHROMEWELD Department. The Manufacturing Supervisor coordinates the efforts of his team in such a manner to ensure that the proper objectives are established to meet production specifications, quality requirements and delivery expectations of the customer.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the safe work behavior and conditions within the CHROMEWELD Team.
• Meet production goals related to quality, safety, and production as established by the Operations Manager.
• Work to establish continuous improvement of processes and product.
• Uphold the standards and expectations of the Operations Manager.
• Work collaboratively with the Operations Manager to prioritize, coordinate and schedule production needs to meet production goals.
• Communicate effectively with other Supervisors and Operations Manager.
• Support all efforts associated with the Operations Manager by providing consistent communication, clear directives and ensuring all details and directives are in order.
• Encourage and build trust, respect and cooperation with all team members.
• Relate to all shop and office personnel in an ethical manner.
• Maintain appropriate behavior and compliance with procedures and directives.
• Maintains housekeeping within all work areas of the team.
• Motivate team members to perform to the best of their abilities.
• Assigns team to specific job tasks based on individual capabilities.
• Inspire team to achieve and exceed established goals.
• Facilitate communication among all members within the CHROMEWELD Team as well as across all teams.
• Provide guidance and direction to team members by setting goals and monitoring performance.
• Perceive problems as they develop and communicate such issues to the Operations Manager.
• Demonstrate expected job duties to team members, and observe the performance of the team to ensure compliance with procedures and safety regulations.
• Encourage all members of the shop to stay on task and remain at their workstations.
• Confer with other Supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between work areas.
• Interpret specifications, prints, job instructions, and company policies and procedures for employees.
• Monitor quality standards and specification requirements.
• Provide team members with work instructions and supplies necessary to complete work tasks.
• Communicate any discrepancies or issues with jobs that impact quality, scheduling and/or delivery.
• Communicate and enforce workshop policy, rules and requirements.
• Discipline and document worker performance issues including but not limited to attendance, poor quality or safety performance or behavior.
• Communicate employee and personal suggestions for enhancing efficiency, quality, safety and continuous improvement.
• Handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances and conflicts and confer with management or subordinates to resolve these issues, if necessary.
• Report, investigate and document all incident, accidents and injuries.
• Comprehension and utilization of company database program and other computer applications as appropriate to position or indicated by Operations Manager.
• Personal and team comprehension and verification of and adherence to specifications, layouts, details and bill of materials as indicated on prints and/or travelers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Welding Engineering or related field
• CWI or CPWI Certified – Instruction & Inspection
• Prior experience in steel fabrication environment preferred
• Minimum of 5-7 years in a technical role associated with welding processes
• Prior Leadership experience and demonstrated leadership skills
• Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and safe work practices
