Safety Coordinator

The Safety Coordinator will lead all company-wide safety initiatives under the direction of the Quality& Safety Manager. Responsibilities include but are not limited to performing training, accident investigations, safety and quality data analysis, trend charting, monitoring and measurement device calibrations, policy and procedure updates, and use of an ERP system for various functions as well as all related recordkeeping/documentation requirements.

Job Responsibilities
• Monitor and implement updates in safety regulations, laws, or reporting requirements.
• Manage OSHA recordkeeping, reporting, and employee training requirements.
• Intervene in at-risk activities.
• Recommend policies and procedures to reduce safety risks and occupational health issues.
• Conduct accident, incident, and near miss investigations and reporting.
• Assist with environmental test functions and applications.
• Maintain active role in internal Continuous Improvement efforts.
• Assist with the design, development and implementation safety training programs and policies, including performing training as requested.
• Enforce safety policies and practices, ensuring proper handling and analysis of safety incidents and accidents.
• Maintain calibration activities and associated recordkeeping.
• Assist with administration of Worker’s Compensation Program.
• Conduct and lead monthly safety meetings with Safety Committee.

Job Requirements
• Manufacturing shop floor experience highly desired.
• Experience with overhead cranes, jib cranes, steel plate lifting accessories (chains, clamps, clings) required.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Quality experience a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health or related field.
• 3 years’ experience in relevant safety field.
• Prior experience in manufacturing in quality and safety responsibilities.
• Prior experience in training.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• OSHA 10 and 30 hour training completion required.
• Knowledge of federal and state safety regulations.
