JADCO is seeking a motivated, organized, experienced, honest and dependable Auto-Cad drafter for a temporary to possible permanent position. Ability to create new drawings and manipulate existing drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks programs. Skilled in interpretation of customer specifications and fabrication shop drawings. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to maintain customer confidentiality. Self-motivated and dedicated individual with meticulous attention to detail.

Job Responsibilities:

• Create detailed fabrication drawings and erection drawings in AutoCAD and SolidWorks in accordance with company standards.

• Complete design specifications by consulting vendors.

• Complete projects from conception to final completion with minimal supervision.

• Develop, prepare, and maintain complete Bills of Materials for each product being manufactured, including job specific Bills of Materials for custom products.

• Utilize structural concepts and practices, drafting standards, symbols, and engineering terms.

• Suggest changes in design, materials, method of manufacture and assembly, and drafting techniques to improve product quality, cost, and performance.

• Work with other departments within company to ensure drawings convey the correct information and for problem resolution and continuous improvement.

• Focus on quality and speed every day, doing all things with a sense of urgency towards excellence.

Job Qualifications & Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in Computer Aided Drafting or related field is required.

• Must have 1-3 years of experience in CAD design, preferably in a steel service center.

• Solid understanding of drafting techniques.

• Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.

• Familiarity with reverse engineering and the associated measuring tools preferred.

• Experience with 3D scanning technology is a plus.

• Experience with Geomagic Design X software is a plus.

• Communications Proficiency (both verbal and written).

• Ability to prioritize and multitask assigned projects.

• Sense of humor required.

Job Description:

• Introduce new and existing corporate products or services to established and potential clients.

• Communicate with customers daily to request orders and provide quotations and lead times by fax telephone, and/or email.

• Work collaboratively with the Outside Sales Team, Operations Manager, Drafting Department, and outside vendors/service providers to prioritize, coordinate and schedule customer needs and requirements.

• Collect and analyze data to estimate the cost, size, materials, nature and duration of a potential project by interpreting prints, specifications and customer requirements.

• Emphasize service or product features and benefits, discussing credit terms, quoting prices and preparing sales order forms.

• Coordinate with all related departments for order status, ensuring the delivery commitments are met.

• Process cancellations or changes in sales orders and communicating the changes to the related departments.

• Capture accurate and complete information in ERP system for customer relationship management.

• Monitor quality standards and specification requirements and communicate any discrepancies or issues related to jobs that impact quality, scheduling and/or delivery.

• Communicate customer feedback and suggestions for enhancing efficiency, quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

• Maintain and expand the database of customers and prospects of the organization.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to read blueprints efficiently.

• Associate’s Degree in Metallurgy, Drafting, or related engineering discipline is a valued.

• Able to work in a fast paced, self-directed entrepreneurial environment.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to read, evaluate, and interpret prints, drawings, and specifications.

• Decision-making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills.

• Highly proficient level computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.

• Trained in inside sales and/or estimating.

• Prior involvement in fabrication and steel service center required.
